Loughborough AC Students Indoor Open Meeting
Saturday 13th January 2018
On Saturday 13th of January three of Kingston’s female sprinters travelled down to the midlands for the Loughborough AC student’s indoor open meeting. This was the second competitive run out this year for all three girls, who a week earlier had begun their indoor season at the Sale Harriers open meeting.
Amy Sampson was the winner of the clubs under 20 sprints award last December and 2018 has seen her move up into the senior ranks where she is now competing in the under 23’s. All the sprinters at the Loughborough meeting were allowed to run two 60 metre races and Amy was seeded to run in race 3 in the first round. She ran a season’s best time of 8.56 sec to take a 5th place finish. She went in the fourth of the second round of races where she finished in 2nd place running a time of 8.64 sec.
Chloe Constable is a talented athlete who had a bit of a mixed year in 2017, she has been training well through the winter and has looked good in the sessions. She was drawn in the fourth of the first round races where she was the race winner and clipped 6 hundredths of a second off her best which she had set the week before to register a new PB of 8.48 sec. Her second run came in the third race where she took a 4th place finish and ran a time of 8.53 sec..
Jasmin Herbison was making the second competitive appearance of her career, having debuted the previous weekend at Sale. She went in race six of the first round where her run of 8.74 sec just three hundredths outside her PB saw her win the race. The second round saw her in action in the fourth race where she took 3rd place and posted a time of 8.76 sec.
